Dr Anwar is a highly experienced clinician with over 30 years of medical practice across three continents. He specialises in Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. He completed his initial specialist training in General Internal Medicine at Cork University Hospital, followed by a dedicated research year in Inflammatory Bowel Disease at the Alimentary Pharmabiotic Centre (APC) in Cork. He then undertook Higher Specialist Training in Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine through the Irish Committee of Higher Medical Training(ICHMT) , achieving a Certificate of Satisfactory Completion of Specialist Training (CSCST) and dual specialist registration with the Irish Medical Council. Dr Anwar further enhanced his expertise through advanced endoscopy training at leading institutions, including the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital and Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, as well as Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, USA, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School.
