Prof. Suhail Khan

Prof Khan completed his surgical training in Ireland, accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, qualifying for inclusion on the specialist registers in both Ireland and the UK. He then undertook a fellowship in laparoscopic colorectal surgery in Hull, United Kingdom. After completing his fellowship, he worked as a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at Wexham Park Hospital in the UK before returning to Ireland as a Consultant General and Gastrointestinal/Colorectal Surgeon, providing both emergency and elective care to adult and paediatric patients. Prof Khan also serves as Clinical Professor of Surgery at UCD. Areas of Interest • Laparoscopic general surgical procedures, including cholecystectomy, groin and ventral hernia repair, laparoscopic colorectal surgery for benign and cancerous conditions, and functional and pelvic floor surgery. • Minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery for benign colorectal conditions, including inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, and rectal prolapse. • Management of patients with complex anal fistulae and perianal disease. • Upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy.
